The Bluegrass Chapter serves the following counties: Fayette, Clark, Bourbon, Bath, Scott, Fleming, Nicholas, Franklin, Woodford, Anderson, Mercer, Jessamine, Madison, Boyle, Garrard, Rockcastle, Jackson, Estill, Powell and Montgomery.
This chapter has always been very active in central Kentucky. There are events and programs that the members are encouraged to participate in. All of these are designed to create awareness for the local area restaurants, and to encourage networking between restaurant members and associate members, who service the restaurant industry with products, services or education.
The Bluegrass Chapter held its inaugural Harvest Lex taste event at Manchester Music Hall in September of 2017. Over 30 restaurants, breweries, distilleries and wineries located all throughout central Kentucky participated. The public enjoyed the finest offerings in the area. The event attracted over 500 people from around the Bluegrass.
The truly special part of this event is that the proceeds go to FoodChain Lexington, an urban indoor agricultural food production and ProStart Kentucky, a nationwide, two-year high school program that unites classroom and industry to develop the best and brightest talent into tomorrow’s leaders. The restaurants enjoy the opportunity to serve potential new patrons with their best harvest, while helping support causes that are near and dear to the hearts of restaurant industry folks.
