LOUISVILLE CHAPTER
About Us
The Louisville Chapter is in the heart of it all. We are located in the largest city in the state with the largest membership in the Kentucky Restaurant Association. You will find any dining experience you would like from a down home country breakfast to some of best fine dining in the country. Any way you say it you will see why Louisville…Looahvul…or Looeyville… is your kind of place.
The Louisville Chapter is heavily involved with the community in promoting its members and it is continually looking for ways to strengthen the value of the membership. The Chapter sponsors the Kentucky Derby Festival's Run for the Rose' during Derby week. The entire active membership has been promoted in the Eats publication of the Louisville Magazine, the Dining Out section of the Courier Journal and other publications, at no cost to the members. The Louisville Chapter continually works to support the community through local charities and events, such as helping to initiating the Annual Boy Scout Sporting Clays, which raises money for handicapped boys & girls.
Then it is on to our annual "Firecracker Golf Scramble " in July. This enjoyable day of golf has grown over the years to the point that there is a morning and afternoon tee-off to accommodate all the "Tiger Woods wanna be's". 2010 Firecracker Scramble - click here for photos!
Each fall, the Louisville Chapter sponsors the granddaddy event of them all "The Taste of Louisville". For 30 years restaurants from the chapter have presented some of the finest cuisine in the area, with live entertainment, for one of the most enjoyable evenings you will ever have. The proceeds from this event have generated more than $536,000 as $10,000 was donated for scholarships in the culinary arts field and local charities.
If you would like to be a part of the chapter that touts some of the finest people in the industry call The Kentucky Restaurant Association and tell them that you want to become part of the Louisville Chapter.
